To help address growing public health concerns regarding the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), Des Moines Children’s Museum will close to the public beginning tomorrow, Monday, March 16 and will remain closed until further notice. All programming and events at the museum during this time will be rescheduled or cancelled.
There has been no known exposure to individuals diagnosed with COVID-19 in the museum or amongst our guests or staff. This decision was made to help slow the spread of COVID-19 and to contribute to the health and well-being of our community.
Thank you for your understanding and patience during this unprecedented and quickly-changing public health crisis. We did not take the decision to close lightly; we know this closure will disrupt the plans of many friends of Des Moines Children’s Museum. We will reach out as soon as possible to reschedule or issue refunds for any birthday parties scheduled during our closure.
As a locally supported non profit organization, Des Moines Children’s Museum relies on the generosity of our community. We are grateful for your ongoing support, as well as your memberships and contributions, that will help to sustain our organization during this challenging time.
We look forward to playing again when we re-open. Museum leadership will continue to monitor the quickly evolving situation and will re-evaluate this decision on a weekly basis. Be well, and take care of one another!
